CVA heavy fleet carriers are usually conversions of that empires' DN dreadnought hull.

Most CVAs as well as SCSs are based on dreadnoughts with minor external difference.

Usually something like extra Tractor Beams and Shuttle Hatches (like the Tholian CVA which was built on a CA with 20 something external Shuttle Bays wield to the Fins) to the C8V which built a whole new Hanger Deck on top of the existing deckhouse. And of course the Feds built their special Carrier with landing balconies.

ADB sells a Starline2400 Federation CVA mini, but it never really was a favorite of mine (it has a different saucer than DN, when it should be the same, etc.).

When my copy got damaged, I completely rebuilt it, to truly look like a conversion of the DN.

Holy mackerel that is an amazing mod. I've been collecting parts to make one and what you've done so far is outstanding!!!

Thanks!

If you're going to do it up like mine, one piece of advice I can give is to just scrap the existing CVA mini's rear hull. I spent f-a-r too long filing and sanding away the lower "bulbous" portions of it and making it flat, so I could graft on the trimmed piece of stock DN rear hull I used. Removing that much pewter is hard work.

If I had it to do over again, I would just make the "flattop" portions of the rear hull I was trying to salvage from scratch, using plastic card/sheet and be done with it.

My original thought was to use a BB hull and file/cut it into shape but once I got it I'm rethinking it. BB hull with DN saucer and engines. Still a thought in progress. Now rethinking just modding the DN hull. It'll be a while before I start work on this.
