I think it's 100 metres/hex. Ships land in the "remote areas" IIRC, so they don't appear on the map. A ship would probably be a terrain piece really... A crashed ship might make a fun terrain feature in a scenario (Sparrowhawk Down?Just a curiosity, but what is the scale of the map? I'm wonding how large a counter I'll need for my Commando Eagles.

Looks interesting. The vid, however... it deserves a reshoot from a script. It had a lot of good examples, but the "senior moments" (Ooops, I forgot...) are a bit unnerving. Could even take the script direct from the 1st ed video...
Also, the half-inch counters on 16mm hexes looks REALLY cramped; modern players may have issues with it, as will some of us with unsteady hands. Perhaps go to 20-25mm hexes to allow a little finger (and terrain reading) space?
Lack of finger space is why I don't play Fed Space much anymore. I just can't work half in counters on 16mm hexes. with 25mm and a 3-4 counter limit, all counters could be used unstacked.
